Performance Apple iPad’s stuns with new beta software
Apple surprises once again with the new beta software for macOS, iOS and iPadOS released at the end of last week. Although the focus is mainly on artificial intelligence, another element caught my attention: a new weather widget.
Weather at your fingertips
Originally noticed by the team at 9to5Mac, this new widget is in the shape of a small weather icon showing the temperature along with the time, Wi-Fi, and battery indicators. This coverts your Mac into giving you a preview of the weather in the next few hours at the location it is. If you are interested you can also use the widget to look up the temperatures in other regions of the world as well.
Quick access to the weather
For those who desire more information about the weather it is also accompanied by a link to the weather application. As with any last features it is to be noted that all these features could change with developer betas. Consequently, having the weather widget in this release means that the consumer may not find it in the final release.
Still, it is still great to know that Apple is developing a widget of such kind. Well, it is a very basic application but it has a useful function. Well, who would not like this instead of going to a weather site or opening a completely different application when “a widget in the easiest menu bar will suffice”?
Activating the weather widget
If you are using beta version control 15.2 then to enable the weather widget control go to System Setting and Control Centre. Then go to Weather and click View in the Menu Bar option.
And while you’re at it, do not leave Playgrounds and ChatGPT integration out, as these are some of the AI features that are at the frontline.
